Sekebun (Sekampung Berkebun) is the first sustainable social impact initiative born from Salam Rancage. The program became the foundation from which various other social initiatives later grew, including Pasar Dongko, Kalis, and Inbiz. Sekebun takes the form of an urban farming movement that invites residents to reconnect with nature and food in a simple yet sustainable way by growing their own plants within their living environment. Gardening activities are carried out both at individual homes and on limited community land.
The plants cultivated include nutritious food crops or superfoods, as well as aromatic plants. Beyond encouraging food self-sufficiency, Sekebun is more than just a planting activity. It serves as a shared learning space that strengthens food independence, builds ecological awareness, and creates a connected and sustainable social ecosystem. Sekebun is not merely about gardening, but a first step in planting awareness, self-reliance, and hope, which later grow into various other social initiatives within Salam Rancage.
