Jembar is a laundry basket made of woven newspaper with chic color accents from food coloring, giving it a warm and sturdy feel. Jembar is equipped with cotton fabric as a lining on the inside.
The word Jembar in Sundanese means broad, often referring to having Wide-heartedness. The naming of Jembar was inspired by the Wide-heartedness of the weavers’ hearts in facing the economic, educational and environmental limitations they experience daily. Instead of just lamenting the limitations, the breadth of heart makes them lightly try to play a role in building solutions together.
